Inflammation of the bursa under the biceps tendon at the point of the shoulder. One of the more common causes of shoulder lameness in sport horses.

Signs & Symptoms

Forelimb lameness worse on protraction (reaching forward); pain on palpation of the point of the shoulder; reduced stride length; lameness may worsen going downhill; positive response to intrabursal anesthetic block.
