Developmental orthopedic disease where cartilage fails to convert to bone, creating loose flaps or fragments. The distal intermediate ridge of the tibia (DIRT) is the most common hock OCD location.

Signs & Symptoms

Hock effusion (bog spavin) in a young horse; may or may not cause lameness; diagnosed on radiographs; usually treated with arthroscopic surgery with excellent prognosis.
